‘I Cant stand it Any More!' - Treating Pain

Pain, using ankle sprain and bi syndrome as examples of painful conditions viewers will learn a wide variety of therapeutic approaches to pain. The emphasis of the workshop is on learning techniques with a chance to practice them.
Treatment techniques include;
- the use of herbs, internal and external applications, including baths, poultices and liniments. We cover how to make your own liniments and some common formulas.
- acupuncture, including, channel palpation, finding and selecting points and needle manipulation methods. The five animal techniques of needle manipulation, superficial needling, drunken needling are covered.
- cupping and gua sha techniques to alleviate blockages, relieve pain and invigorate channel qi
- moxa using direct and indirect methods with a variety of other medicinal substances and techniques such as walnut shell moxa glasses
- tui na techniques to open the channels, reduce inflamation and relieve qi stasis . This includes ideas for patient self massage.
